We know that the combined effects of gender discrimination and racism, in particular on minoritised and marginalised women globally, has devastating consequences for their career prospects, work-life experience and wellbeing.

Today, we celebrate our REDI women. To our members who are leaders, allies and champions who #ChooseToChallange gender inequality in our sector, thank you!

There’s been a lot happening over the past month:

  • We watched the The IDC inquiry into the culture and philosophy of aid. Note the excellent response given by Leila Billing.
  • Joined a fantastic clubhouse chat with Diasporic Development, hosted by Motunrayo Fagbayi on the ‘Diaspora saviour complex’. It was a deep dive with layers on nuance and we can’t wait for the next one!
  • Our first booster call on ‘Come with goals, leave with a game plan’ for our champions and allies.
  • We’ve been in touch with the HR and recruitment professionals to follow up on our November call with British Expertise on hiring practices in our sector.
  • We’ve started talking with organisations about how we can help them on their REDI journey. If you think we could support your organisation reach out by email: redicollective@gmail.com or DM us on twitter.
  • Lastly, we’re now a social enterprise- REDI Collective CIC. Now we can tackle REDI problems, be better placed to influence and advocate, as well as support our members with more independence.
